Homemade Brownie Mix

This recipe is grown from a brownie recipe that was given to us for the cookbook. If you are not looking to make an entire container of brownie mix, at the end of this post is a link to the ORIGINAL recipe.

Included below will be the MEASUREMENTS for the mix, and the recipe to make either an 8x8 or 9x13 pan.

  • HOMEMADE BROWNIE MIX

  • 3 c. Unsweetened Cocoa

  • 7 1/2 c. White Sugar

  • 4 1/2 c. Flour

  • 2 1/2 tsp. Salt

  • Combine all ingredients in an airtight container.

  • *For reference the container ours is stored in is 4.3 qt.

  • BROWNIES (9x13 pan)

  • 4 1/3 c. brownie mix

  • 1 c. butter, melted

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 tsp. vanilla

  • 1/2 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips, or whatever you prefer

  • Mix all ingredients until just combined, don’t overmix. Bake in 350 degree oven for 33-36 minutes. Do not overbake!

  • BROWNIES (8x8 pan)

  • 2 c. + 1/3 heaping c. brownie mix

  • 1/2 c. butter, melted

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips

  • Mix until just combined. Bake at 350 degrees for 23-25 minutes. Do not overbake! We usually take out about 24 mins, but so many things can make this vary.

  • ** We prefer using the mini versions of chocolate chips or chopping up regular chips so they are a bit smaller and more distributed throughout the brownies.

The mix ins for these brownies are absolutely endless! Peanut butter chips, caramel chips, and m&ms. we would love to hear the brownie combinations you choose to make with these!

Here is a link to the original recipe, that has the measurements for each dry ingredient, not just the mix as above.
